A Note from Magic Mike, 2023 PPR Booshway:

I have a person lined up for firewood. Pretty much the only local I could find who does much of it. I don't have prices yet, but here is his contact info.

He lives in Craigmont which is about 10 miles from Winchester. I will see if he can do something by the gates or in Winchester for people traveling from another direction. He is a super good guy and close friend of mine.

Get your order in as soon as possible. If you wait until the last moment, he may not have any wood to sell.

Anyone looking to take a shift or two walking the camp before, during, and after the event, helping guide our community members in keeping a higher standard of primitive dress and encampments, reach out to the Chief Dog Soldier as soon as you can, even after the event has started. Additional duties include keeping an eye out for fire hazards and helping answer questions.

From Winchester at the Gateway Quick Stop Convenience Store head Southwest on Forrest Road.

Continue South on Forrest Rd. You will pass Olander Rd. and Hackwith Rd.

Turn Right off of Forrest Rd. onto McCormack Ridge Rd.

Continue heading West on McCormack Ridge Rd. past Summercamp Rd.

The first gate to the PPR Camp will be on the Left. There will be signs along the way.

Winchester is a city in Lewis County, Idaho. It is located in the Camas Prairie about 36 miles (58 km) Southeast of Lewiston and 9 miles (14 km) Northwest of Craigmont, on U.S. Route 95, within the Nez Perce Reservation. Winchester is on the north shore of Lapwai Lake, at the Southern point of the Lapwai Canyon. Early homesteaders moved into this area in 1895.

Places to get fuel and groceries in Winchester is very limited as to what it carries. Travelers coming to PPR would have the best chances of getting last minute items either in Lewiston or Grangeville. Below are some places listed:
